1. Read pages 539-549, "Coordination and Subordination."
2. Complete Practice 1 on page 541 by writing the numbers 1
through 5 and typing JUST the word BEFORE the COORDINATOR
that you would use to connect the sentences and the word
AFTER the coordinator. Do not forget the comma.
3. On page 544. complete Practice 3 by combining the
sentences with a semi-colon. Type the word BEFORE the
semi-colon and the word AFTER the semi-colon.
4. Complete Practice 4 by using the conjunctive adverbs on
page 544. Follow the same format as the previous two Practices
and complete the first 5 sentences.
5. Read "Using Subordinating Conjunctions" on page 546.
Complete the first 5 sentences using the same format as you
followed for the previous practices. Remember that Dependent
Word and Subordinatng Conjunction mean the same thing.
