Your homework for Tuesday has three parts.
(1) Following the explanation and examples of Common Methods of Introduction beginning on page 86, write the following types of introductions: 1. Begin with a broad general statement of your topic and narrow it down to your thesis statement
3. Explain the importance of your topic to the reader; 4. Use an incident of a brief story; and 5. Ask one or more questions (don't exceed three). For each of these introductions, use this thesis sentence: Fast food should be regulated.The intro-
duction paragraphs should be no longer than three to five sentences.
(2) Following the explanation and examples of Concluding Paragraph beginnig on page 89, write three concluding paragraphs for this thesis sentence: Fast food should be regulated. The concluding paragraphs should be no longer than three to five sentences.
(3)Read Titles on pages 91 to 92 and complete the activity on page 92 by writing the numbers 1, 2, and 3 and thinking up a title for each introductory paragraph.
