Due Monday,11/22/10, Engl 1301-1011 & -1016

1. In class you were given two handouts. One was the
"Summary of Comma Uses," which lists and gives examples
of 16 comma uses. The second sheet was "Comma Pracrice."
This handout contains 26 sentences. Read each sentence
carefully to see if it contains a comma error [only one
error per sentence except for one sentence which contains
no error]. In the blank next to each sentence, place the
number of the error as listed on the "Summary of Comma
Uses" handout.

2. On page 453 of your textbook, read "In the Real World,
Why Is It Important to Use Correct Verbs?" In the paragraph
in the middle of the page, find 11 verb errors. Type the
sentence and the error as it appears in the book. NEXT to the
error, in parenthesis type the correct verb and underline the
correction.
