For the MW class who did not read the blog, this is new.
For the TTh class, this is a repeat.
1. Follow these directions: (1)From the handout, select
the thesis sentence that you are going to write about
in your essay. (2) Brainstorm three supports for the thesis.
You should have details for each support(3) Type a draft
of the essay.(4) Print a copy of the draft. (5) Bring the
copy of the draft and the outline to class. THIS IS AS
FAR AS YOU HAVE TO GO WITH YOUR ESSAY AT THIS TIME.
STOP AT STEP 5 OF THE ASSIGNMENT SHEET. WE WILL COMPLETE
STEPS 6 THROUGH 9 NEXT WEEK.
2. Read "Problems with Subject-Verb Agreement on pages
434-451. Complete numbers 1-5 in Practice 2 on page 438 by
typing the numbers and only the subject and the verb for
each number. Do the same for numbers 1-5 in Practice 4
on page 440, numbers 1-5 in Practice 5 on page 442, and
numbers 1-5 in Practice 7 on page 445.
3. On the hard copy of your essay, edit and revise. Remove
all errors, combine some sentences, remove references
to "you," follow the handout on "Essay Guidelines."
Print a final copy of the essay and hand it in along with
the draft and the outline. Staple these together.
